Current event #3:”Section of maine’s coast hit by opioid crisis”

People on the midcoast of Maine have been debating to get a drug court for the opioid crisis. We have 6 drug courts in maine the counties that have them are Penobscot, Cumberland, Washington, York, Androscoggin, and Hancock counties. Now we are due for one in the Sagadahoc, Lincoln, Knox and Waldo counties. The current drug courts in Maine can hold 25 to 30 people. The number of overdose deaths are the way we find where the greatest need for help on drugs currently is. Nonviolent drug offenders may apply for drug courts after pleading guilty in the courts.

I feel that we do need a drug court in the countys it could help with the addiction of drug use in the midcoast. My thoughts are that we need to stop the drug addiction not only in maine but over the globe. These people are out with drugs who knows they may make gang fights and without drugs no gang fights. So I feel very bad about the opioid crises in Maine if it keeps going there could be huge problem’s. Maine has suffered long enough with the midcoast drug epidemic, it’s time we all I feel need to vote for a drug court in the midcoast. My feeling on everything bad going on is horrible from “Never Again” to a ‘Earthquake at magnitude 6.7 causing landslides in Hokkaido, Japan” and now an “opioid crisis in the midcoast of maine”. Its just sad how much has been going on world wide the world should be in peace but that will never happen and we know it.
