Current Event #2:”Powerful earthquake causing landslides in Hokkaido, Japan”
The Japanese Earthquake at Magnitude 6.7 at least 125 people injured and 7 people dead. The quake started 3:03am the quake engulfed homes with soil, timber, and rocks, the landslides caused 2.9 million homes to go without power. Watching through a camera you could see lights going black all around the city. The authorities set up a taskforce for the quake and the damage. Almost every mountain had a large brown slash down the mountain into a large forests. While Japan was working on getting the power back on Authorities sent emergency vehicles with generators to hospitals to help them treat the emergency patients. Also emergency water tanker trucks were sent so while power was getting back on the people could have water. The landslide sent some of Japan’s nuclear plants into meltdown. Hokkaido had been limiting people to 20 liters of gas due to the power outage.
My thoughts on this event is that Japan could help the people hit by the landslide by giving money to some of the people hit by the landslide, to get repairs on there houses. Also to get some food and water to survive from this event. Other countries should also help Japan giving them help with getting rid of the soil timber and rocks in the roads, bridges, and tunnels. Every death on this day should have a something to remember them bye maybe even a funeral for every life. America needs to go to Japan and help them with there problem of no power and getting there power production back up and running. We should also go and help them at least get the hospitals all running again. Also Japan should get some more trucks out to clear roads and bridges if there even are any standing. And hopefully Japan will try to get at least some farms running so people can still get some food. I feel that this is just so sad what is happening all around the world lately with hurricanes earthquakes all of it is upsetting.
